Taste the Wonders  of Australian food and wine

Australia’s united food and wine team heads to Taiwan

Queen's Egg Tart

Ingredients

1. Australian Milk 450g
2. Sugar 270g
3. Salt 4g
4. Egg yolk 450g
5. whipping cream 900g
6. Danish pastry 50 pcs
7. Australian Macadamia nuts 280 g
8. Brown sugar pearls (tapioca balls) 300g
9. Australian cream cheese 900g

Directions

1. Mix the egg yolk and whipping cream until combined, then set aside.
2. Heat the milk, sugar, and salt until the sugar dissolves.
3. Roughly chop the macadamia nuts and set aside.
4. Pour the milk mixture into the egg yolk mixture, stirring constantly, then strain and set aside.
5. In the tart shell, layer chunks of cream cheese, brown sugar pearls, and macadamia nuts, then pour in the egg mixture. Preheat the oven to 180°C and bake for 35 minutes. Serve when done.
